Ya know, if we don't start allowing the drilling of our own oil NOW, the price of Gasoline will never come back down to a reasonable
level for most Americans. Yet there are a number of politicos (and candidates) who say they oppose any drilling NO MATTER HOW HIGH
the price of oil goes. Yeah, yeah, it fluctuates up and down, but if you think you're ever going to see gas at the pump below $3 a
gallon again, you're dreaming.
One politico we all know proposes that by having our cars tuned up and keeping our tires inflated we can make up "for all the oil
we could drill." Now that was an ignorant, if not downright stupid statement. Cars have not gotten tune-ups since 1986 since the
advent of the automobile's computer.Sounds quite like a statement by people wealthy enough to not be concerned with prices at the pump,
does it not?
Get off our dependence on oil. Hmmmmm. Got any idea, ANY AT ALL, of the number of items which are produced from oil, right down
to the pavement on our roads? One might as well advocate doing away with air and water. If, IF we started a real concerted effort
to discover/develop some other alternate source of energy (not that we haven't been trying for years) it would take several decades
just to put it into countrywide usage.
Let's see. No oil today = no airplanes, no helicopters, no trains, no ships, no freight trucks, no UPS, no automobiles, no delivery
of food from farms; no medical supplies, donor organs, emergency medivac of accident victims to hospitals, and generally speaking,
no electricity--get the picture? Tens of millions would starve to death. Well, think about it. No electricity means no stores, not
to mention no products to sell you, definitely no canned products as no viable alternate energy source exists to run the canneries.
Get it? NO FOOD!
Atomic energy? Now there's an answer, but environmentalist will not allow it, and they have the politicians deep in their pockets.
Dig this. SDG&E wants to construct a huge, non polluting solar panel array way out in the desert east of San Diego. Environmentalist,
who have long decried the polluting of the air and environment with the use of coal, oil, nuclear energy..., are fiercely fighting the
use of renewable, non-poluting energy from the sun, as it would have to be transmitted to the cities by high power transmission lines.
Southern California is virtually out of water and citizens are only beginning to feel the pinch. Yet environmentalist, who don't
want us taking any more water from the Colorado River to the east, or building pipelines to transport water from the north, also oppose
building sea-water conversion plants (like the one presently suggested) because it may kill some fish. NOT! But that's another long
explanation which the E's are just not interested in hearing.
It's a crazy world, folks...no, let me correct that. Its a great world too heavily populated with crazy, ignorant people.
